In line with our Radical series, we asked a couple of people the question: What was the toughest Lordship decision you had to make that turned out to be worth it?
Take a look at their answers!

The time I wanted to shift and transfer to another school because I wanted to pursue my passion. I knew God wanted me to stay in my college and I realized that His plans and purposes are a lot greater than mine. Now, I am the Lifebox president of my school and I know God is using me to share the gospel to my schoolmates. Obeying Him was worth it.

It was when I choose UPLB over a private university after praying and seeking advice from godly people. It was the first time i would be far away from my family and be on my own. Later on, got my chance to transfer to UPD and was among the 30 from the 90+ chosen to pursue BroadComm–my first choice in UPCAT. All by God’s grace!

The time I chose where to go for college, between two great rival schools. It all came down to asking God where he wants me to go and trusting in Him completely even if most of my good friends from high school and church are from or going to a different college. It turned out to be super worth it because it allowed me to build connections and friendships and grab more opportunities to share about God’s faithfulness in my life.

When i decided to talk to my dad that i have not talked to for years. Right now we can talk about anything and just few more invites i know he will attend to our church before the year ends. (Read more about this on his blog ‘Lordship? BIG WORD!‘)

When I was a teenager I surrendered to God my whole heart – my desires, feelings, and even relationships that doesn’t please Him. Little did I know, God allowed me to go through that season so I can minister more to women and remind them of their value in Christ, how much God loves them and that they are worth waiting for. The time I had to delay pursuing this woman I loved. I was ready to marry her, but just knew the timing wasn’t right. In the end, the delay proved to be immeasurably beneficial to my role in ministry. And God kept her for me, so that when I was ready to pursue her she was still available! And now she’s my wife. When I decided that there is no turning back to being a committed follower of Christ. When I went against the flow, students started following Jesus and attending our youth fellowship on campus where I was leading.

One time, my classmates decided to falsify data on their lab reports to make work easier. Of course, I was tempted to do the same. But Jesus is Lord over all my life, even over academics. Even though I ended up having the only B in the class, while everyone else got A’s, I had peace in my heart because I knew that God was sovereign over my schoolwork. Stepping out in faith to talk to and pray for a stranger and invite him and his family to service. I think this is what’s brewing. Ive never had evangelical strengths before. Now i know God’s moving.

That time when I was in dire need of money for my tuition and there was a choice between faithfully tithing or sternly saving up by my own strength. I gave my tithes and gave up my pride and He was faithful. He has provided for my schooling ever since.

The time that I was preparing for a dance competition and got seriously injured. I kept on telling God that His timing was terrible and tried to take matters into my own hands. Deciding to surrender the situation to Him was worth it because He showed me a side of Him I’d never experienced before. (Read more about it in her blog ‘The pride and the sea‘)

Third term this year, I had a minor subject that if I failed, will cause a super delay in my studies. All of us in the class had that feeling. At the end of the term during verification of the grades, my classmates thought of giving a bribe for the sake of passing but at the same time, I’m so tempted to do what everybody else is doing. I also felt weak because I’m the only Christian in our section. Then, God impressed to me the word accountability. So, I went to my friend and she encouraged me that blessed is the pure for they shall see God. We prayed together and believed God that I don’t have to do what everybody else is doing. I have to remain with my conviction and be excellent in this situation. God told me this: BEHOLD MY DAUGHTER FOR I AM WITH YOU, I WILL RESCUE YOU AND YOU DON’T NEED TO DO ANYTHING. Lordship is not about pleasing people around you but it is obeying God no matter what happen. During the viewing of grades, I didn’t expect it! My grades are higher than I expected. YOUR GRADES WILL NOT DICTATE YOUR FUTURE, ONLY GOD CAN. All I can say is that I honor God with what I do and with my decision.

Thank you for sharing to us your own Lordship story, Julie! We are thrilled for what God has in store for you in the coming days and months and years! I’m sure this testimony will be an encouragement to the ladies you will minister to and disciple as well!
It’s amazing to see how God works in our life when we start to have Him as our source and not ourselves, when we realize that it’s not about us but it’s all about Him.
